About the 2010 Event
The event was in aid of Help for Heroes (H4H) who provide support for injured members of the armed forces, and at this years event people dug deep in their pockets to raise £132,000.
Well-known faces including ITV weather presenter Becky Mantin, comic writer and entertainer Pam Ayres, and rugby player Peter Winterbottom were at the event but the real stars of the show were our canine chums.
Phyllis - a black labrador belonging to General Sir Richard Dannatt, the former head of the British Army - took centre stage as president of the day and she was joined by fellow pooches of all breeds, shapes and sizes.
Sir Richard said: “It was fantastic how many people and their dogs came to Norfolk Dog Day this year. The weather was perfect and it struck me that everybody had so much fun. There were lots of smiles and wagging tails, and a huge amount of money being raised for a very worthy cause - helping our soldiers who get injured doing difficult things on behalf of the nation is what it is all about, and it is wonderful how much people want to support H4H."
